How DeepSeek lied: 241 quotations that never existed

I asked the neural network to find quotations about specific places in Paris and added: “with links to sources — I want to check you’re not lying to me.” What came back was two quotes for each of ninety places, from Voltaire to Gainsbourg, with dates, titles of works and links to the National Library of France. Not a single one was real. Some are so good I would print them on posters — which is why they are laid out here as a quote book. But every one of them is a fake. This quote book exists nowhere else: I put it together for the portfolio from the catalogue of fabrications.
